A Plan for Plant Care while Away
Another option is to water your plants well and then bag them in clear plastic. Place stakes in the plants that keep the plastic from touching the plant, and the humidity within the bag will help keep everybody nice and moist. If your plant is too large, bag the area around the pot and the base of the plant.
Make sure to keep your plants in the coolest part of your home if vacationing in warm weather months, and if your vacation extends beyond a week, ask a friend to come care for your house plants instead.
