Frankenstein Meets Einstein
It should come as no surprise, given the level of genius involved, that Albert Einstein's brain was carefully studied after his death in 1955. Einstein's brain was removed – without permission from his family, by the way– by Thomas Stoltz Harvey, the Princeton Hospital pathologist who conducted the autopsy. In a Frankenstein-esque move, Harvey took the brain home and kept it in a jar, only receiving permission many years later to dissect and study the famous organ. Needless to say, research revealed that this was not your ordinary brain.

After finding different clues that suggested that Einstein’s brain was able to communicate at a much faster speed than normal brains, it is no wonder he was a genius. He also had a brain much larger than most. This probably is what led to that huge head of his. His mother thought it might have even been deformed.

That large head and brain of his, however, is probably what led to his interest in science and math. These two subjects were the only ones he was good at though, considering he failed the language, history, and geography sections of his university entrance exam delaying his entrance for a year.
